One of the benefits of taking time to reflect on “what was great” about last year is that I get to appreciate the good things that happened. And realise there were more than I thought. Many people had a tough year last year and are hoping for 2012 to be better. My belief is that I have a greater chance of that happening if I take some responsibility for making it so. One way to do that is to realise that there were many good things that happened, and appreciate that. And then use that appreciation to think about what you need to plan into your life so you have more of that.
